An Artist's Mind

An Artist's Mind

A Poem by Krisna Chatelain
"

Dedicated to all artists

"

They think of hours of solitude

Loneliness and obsessive thinking

Of pain slowly eating up its way into your fatigued corpse

Where your bed becomes a place of comfort and security which they mistakenly confuse for love

That insomnia are the darkest hours of the day, where the worry takes over your soul…unwelcoming dreams without knowing that dreams aren’t meant for bedtime

They believe you’re lost into a fantasy of crazy ideas which you created because they don’t understand our world.

And so you start finding society pitiful and uninteresting

Unwilling of the gift of knowledge that you hold inside

Conversation becomes boring and overrated

It’s as if their voices become the sounds of nature you despise the most

And all you want to do is escape from the longing days into your place of happiness

Weed becomes your secret lover

You share the deepest feelings and fondest thoughts

The connection with your inner-self is profound and pure

And you learn how to embrace it

You welcome love, and understand its meaning

You see that it's unconditional and sign of freedom and peace

You become suddenly drawn to art for its freedom of expression

And your thoughts take forms, become colors, objects and sounds.

You're able to create a world of open minded people

Where a job is nothing more than a canvas and money a tool

Luxury no longer matters as we find interest only in the meaningful

For us the perfect day is a day of ultimate relaxation in a exotic place, letting our minds bloom of erotic smells.

We get lost in the music that lives in our soul and let it transport us into the realm of our imagination.

We are the saviors of a world of hate and yet we welcome everyone with open arms in peace.

An artist’s mind is nothing else than a beautiful mind.

It seems I never offered an opinion on this, but I surely have one.

It's dreary at first, I mistakenly took it for mental illness. And then you zoom outward to the anti-societal nature of an artist. Someone who sees thing differently, and who doesn't accept the dull aesthetic.

What really captures me is when you turn words into colours. It's like you have literally conveyed an artwork without there being any present. Or perhaps that artwork is my own "freedom of expression" that is unexpressed and resides in my mind. It's at that point that I believe the poem flourishes and matures, and allows a sort of release against the formality of "society".

It only follows that once the imagination is grasped you use words, which the very connotations makes one swoon and shudder. Exotic, erotic and saviour

As I read it, your poems can be liberating as well as sensual, political as well as gentle.

Everyone sees waves on the surface of the ocean but never the undertow. This poem is just that, something tugging underneath to pull you into itself. Wonderful with some grammatical errors.
Just one last thing, weed should never be a secret!. Ha jk Great stuff

I remember this being said of an ENTIRE generation...History repeats over-and-over ...human nature.

On a side note you've a number of word flaws in the above that distract from your work. Perhaps if YOU s l o w l y read it ALOUD you'll catch them.

They say also. Poet, artist and musician are insane too. They see too much. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
