Give me an opportunity

Give me an opportunity

A Poem by Kruppz
"

“If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” Mother Teresa

"
I don't care if you're strong
or weak
I don't care if you're rich
or poor
Oh yes I don't really care
and that's for sure

I don't care if you're smart
or gullible
I don't care if you're white
or black
And the truth is everyone's got
something they lack

I don't care who you are
as long as you give me
an oppotunity to help thee

...

Give me the opportuity
to lend my shoulder
when you cry

Give me the opportunity
to give my love
when you lack

Give me the opportunity
to divide your sorrows
when you have

Give me the opportunity
to heal your wounds
when you're hurt

'Cause I wanna be your friend
I wanna be there
always
for you

I might be a stranger
But I can be a soldier
to you

You perhaps can't read my eyes
When they say they really care
for you

You think the world is mean?
You think the world is cruel?
I wanna be the first
to be kind to you
So that I might
just change your view

For there's God in everyone
dormant in some hearts
until they wake up from their slumber
for a truly fresh start

And I swear I was one of them too
But here I stand now
at your feet
for your rescue

Even though I don't know your name
And perhaps you don't know what's mine
As for others & so for you I am the same
For I possess the same heart as thine
And we're all tied together by the one Divine

An expression of giving that transcends any personal sense of one's own self interests....the way motherly love seeks to give to her child and to help the child grow. But where childbirth induces a response from the mother's body, the poem itself may seek a bodily committment for the experience of motherhood.

IIf we all shared our strength for one another, the world would be a little better, but we would never have been able to read such a great poem. In which the power of faith far exceeds the disillusion of bias. Nice work!
