A Beautiful Last Goodbye

A Beautiful Last Goodbye

A Poem by Kaleidoscope Apocalypse
"

It was just one of those days..

"

Sitting silently by herself

All alone save for the nagging of her mind

Loneliness slowly creeping up her spine

She watches as the pretty pink of the setting sun bleeds away into deep dark blues

A storm is moving in, the air is fully charged

The wind is picking up, tossing cherry blossoms carelessly aside;

Pale pink and white petals struggling to fight a battle long since lost

She waits patiently, hardly moving from her window

This is the season she longed for so dearly;

When the world itself seems to understand her pain

Quiet tears seem to start the deluge

Drops of red pour down over the land,

Marring those once pretty trees in a smear of blood

Memories flash in her eyes, lighting up the darkened sky

Through the open window, the wind begins to whisper

It talks of betrayals, of misgivings, and goodbyes

Lashing at her hair, it screams of lost love and unabided lust

She loses herself in the pain of realization

She takes up a pen and begins to write

"Why not one more night, one last kiss goodbye,

My sweet love, tonight?

I hope the stars still spell out your name where

You are."

She signs it sweetly, not wanting to let go just yet

Slowly she begins to walk, not sure of where she'll go.

She hesitates briefly at the door,

Turning slowly she takes one last look around

And then she walks into the rain,

"It is done."

Hm, I don't recall this one...
Was this one you read to me?
I think my favorite lines are:

She loses herself in the pain of realization
She takes up a pen and begins to write

I know that's what I do when I write...
Beautiful work, love.

Your imagery is brilliant, using nature as characters moving around the main character! Such a depth and beauty to your words!

About
First of all, may I just say this; "I absolutely HATE trying to tell people about myself. I'm never sure what is or is not appropriate, and I never know what people will actually want to know." Now, .. more..
