War

War

A Poem by Krystle Queen

There's an explosion

I turn my head

But its too late

He's already ahead

I race after him

My ears filled with noise

I release the pin

Then throw it

I had no choice

It felt like sin

It hit

He went down

With everyone around

Something touches my temple

And I look to my left

He shoots

And I go to bed

The screeches stop

Then my life

Starts to pop

It shows my wife

Then my daughter

And all the laughter

Then the last thing I say

Before I go away

Is im proud to be

In the American Military.
