When You Lose SomeoneA Poem by Kaitlynn
When you lose someone,
It's not fair, Never is, When you lose someone, Air becomes toxic, Heavy and hard to breathe, Every breath is forced, It has to be, Or else you wouldn't breathe at all, And it's heavy, While it may be the loosest form of matter, It seems to cluster together just for you, And it's like it wants to become liquid, And drown you, Become solid, And crush you. When you lose someone, Water becomes mercurial, I say that because, The guilt and the pain, It comes in waves, Crashing down on you, And you finally understand what it means, To be 80% water, It means you are the Earth holding the ocean, And you have no control, Over how it. Takes hold, Though it may be, The biggest part of you, It does not care, And has a mind of it's own, You now understand why they say the oceans, The most dangerous frontier. When you lose someone, The Earth becomes inviting, Seductive, Enticing, Welcoming you to take, A nice long nap inside it, And it's like it's trying, To swallow you whole, To reconcile you, With the life it stole, And there is a small part of you, That wants to accept the invite, To go to sleep, For an eternal night, Because anything's better than this, Than the water and air turning against you, Cause when you lose someone, You become fire, Gasping for air, Drowning in tears, And clinging to the earth for dear life, When you lose someone, Nothing's Alright © 2016 KaitlynnAuthor's Note
