Blind Faith

Blind Faith

A Poem by ksscampos
"

in the world of the blind, the cyclops is king

"

Blind Faith

As he looked back at the masses
He conducted his sermon
Beautiful lies he told and they trusted
For the fear of death he bestowed

He spoke kindly of divine love
Which does not come free
He was crucified for your sins
And ten percent of your earnings

He spoke with such certainty
Of tales written in a book
Should be followed religiously
No time for questions, just take a knee

Through his words they’re blinded
And most simply refuse to see
They claim truthfulness
But live in contradictory

Walk away from blind faith
Open your eyes and look
There is no heavenly plan
We’re not words on a book

Nikki said it already, but I couldn't help it. That line is incredible. The whole thing really, I have an immense soft spot for anti-religious poetry. Keep it up!
