A Feather in the Wind

A Feather in the Wind

A Poem by KylieRBean
"

A boy and a feather.

"
A small, white feather flutters,
Forgotten in a corner,
Kept from flying away
Only by the dirt that entraps it,
That holds it down where it is.

A small, pale boy fidgets,
Forgotten in a corner,
Kept from flying away
Only by the life that entraps him,
That holds him down in reality.

This small, white feather
Grows darker from the debris,
Staining it every second,
Until it is no longer recognizable.

This small, pale boy's mind
Grows darker from the pain,
Staining it every second,
Until he is no longer recognizable.

A small, brown feather lies there,
Fluttering frantically,
But no one notices.

A small, tarnished boy stands there,
Fluttering frantically,
But no one notices.

The small, brown feather
Gets caught in a gust of wind.

The small, tarnished boy
Gets caught in a burst of pain.

The small, brown feather flies away.

This is fabulous and the story it tells gave me the chills. I am going to see if I can find more of your work. Valentine
