Mr. Poet

Mr. Poet

A Poem by Brandon Langley
"

AKA: Nadir

"

Oh, But it's much more than that, Mr. Poet, isn't it?

It's obvious, isn't it?

You're broken-hearted, disappointed, and, to be frank, you're enthralled with rage.

So you decided to write a poem saying how s**t the world is because you didn't get your way?

Oh how charming...

The man stops to take a puff,

In the darkness, the man's silhouette was made visible by only the small fire of his cigar

You act as if you're the only one in the world with these feelings,

And nothing to show for them.

Well, if you will, allow me to share some words of wisdom,

Do you want to know why she doesn't love you?

It's because you're a useless slob, scanning the Internet for that trash you call art,

While you could be spending time with real people,

Real friends,

Real women,

Like her.

But instead, you choose to spend your time writing poetry,

He said the last word with a snarl, as if even the thought of it sickened him.

About how your romantic advances have failed, and your life is so hard.

Allow me just one more line, if you will, just a moment more of your time.

You're at your nadir, boy.
