The Worst Kind of Heartbreak

The Worst Kind of Heartbreak

A Poem by Brandon Langley
"

This poem neither has, nor needs a thumbnail. Literary art and graphic art are two different forms that should be respected in their own right.

"
The worst kind,
Is when you don't have a reason,
When you shouldn't be heartbroken,
But you should be angry instead.

To quote Daryl Hall,
You're a b***h, girl,
'Cause  its gone too far,
And you know it don't matter anyway.

To quote Nancy Sinatra,
Bang,
Bang,
My baby shot me down.

I was five and he was six,
we rode on horses made of sticks -- :)

Great piece...modern in context, and yet I think that the overall idea/feeling could span the ages. I tend to feel heartbroken faster than I feel angry; I should probably feel angry about these things more often, because I think that anger is an easier emotion to escape from than heartache.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets these archaic references, lol
