It isn’t fair to cheat

Forever

To live, laugh, and

Love

Like there’s no tomorrow

To see eternity plus

one day

What is, really isn’t

What’s not, never will be.

TRUST

I love you’s fade into

The hushed abyss of perpetuity,

Into the well of eternal

Nothingness

Because

To see “forever” is an alien concept

Unreal

How must one see something, yet still be

Blind?

How must one feel something they’ve never touched?

The same way a cat

Barks

Forever is a like a

Mirror

We’ll never see because

It comforts, yet contorts our

Complacency

“Seeing forever” is this

Hallmark concept to

Cripple the flower, that is

Our selfhood,

From growth.

Truly remarkable writing here. The disadvantage of cheating forever is that its a losing game. The struggle of the peony towards the end is my favorite. The peony struggles from the pressures of the concrete weighing down on the success of the dear flower. Mesmerizing piece. Great imagery. Great read.

Nicely captured. I do believe that forever is shorthand for until I get bored or things don't go my way. Sad but true.
Maybe its a modern thing, but I think its been around a lot longer than we care to remember.
