Ductility

Ductility

A Poem by Lola Nation
"

ductile Pronunciation: ˈdək-təl, -ˌtī(-ə)l Function: adjective Etymology: Middle English ductil, from Latin ductilis, from ducere Date: 14th century 1 : capable of being drawn out into wire or thread "

Hands full of brail, ductile
I could no longer blind myself in denial
Compulsion and excessive behavior
creating a thin wire
between the pressure of confinement
and the brittle strength
I could not walk the line;
I could only bare to stand
and watch, now fully aware.

Author's Note

Lola Nation
the main words in this poem for me were ductile, compulsion, excessive - I am not sure what i wanted to do with them but shackled this together for now.

ductile is not a word that gets a lot of use...there's this thing on a loom called a ductile sleeve i think...i used to work in a textile plant years ago. i love word experiments and challenges though, if you work up a contest give me a shout and i'll see what i can scratch up...i thought this was pretty cool
