Status Updates

in reference to those clever "I can't believe it's Monday again..." or "TGIF" status remarks on any given networking site...

Why does everyone’s status seem

to revolve around disbelief of Monday

and religious exaltations for Friday?

Occasionally, someone is wishing it was Sunday

but you never hear about good

old Tuesday, it’s lost in the shuffle

Wednesday is referred to as a mere hump

to get over, and Thursday’s child

still has far to go,

no one appreciates the in between

or seems to realize

365 days a year, until we die

we waited for two days a week

cursed one, and praised the prelude

to a weekend, completely

neglecting three valuable days of our lives.

Do the math, update your status

enjoy today.

Nice. Express frustration *and* make a valid point in a poem. This strikes me prose poetry, written well. The line breaks are inconsequential as the poem seems to flow in one vein. Also, I agree every bit with the message.
