Waking up

Waking up

A Poem by Lola Nation
"

listening with my eyes closed, a little cheaper side...

"

The walls are green and the sky is navy

Not a star in sight and not even

 a cloud either

So what do you say, let’s call it

You say night and I say day

You wanna?

Come closer?

You wanna maybe?

Is my voice too soft when I

whisper?

Oh,

I want to,

 yes.

Diagonal, cut across the bullshit

Let’s talk, no, no not about

it, let’s just talk it all

out.

It’s all so cheap,

I couldn’t even pinch myself awake

but my shoulders seemed to fall

my stockings barely stood

the strobe lights seemed so

melodic against

the throbbing movements

Oh let go

of my hand

I’m not sure

this is the direction I intended

and then again,

I have nowhere

 else to go

Oh, the things we wake up to…
