Broken Home

Broken Home

A Poem by Luke Rawlings

I return to those that I call my brethren,
They have always been there for me from within,
Paper kisses and virtual hugs turn real,
My heart can begin to open and feel,
The love and hope, care and affection,
Tainted by time, I feel the rejection,
By that ever present, cold miasma,
To be replaced with that lost nostalgia.

Thank you! I am glad you liked it :)
I can understand this poem very well. Its when situations are so powerful they leave scars behind that change who you are. Your opinions are no longer the same, your thoughts are more confused and you begin to look at life in different way. Very much like in a way that people who recognize neglect and understand it can relate. Life changes when people change. And if your family are no longer the same people you grew up wiv then its best to accept it and move on. After all you can't chose your family so they what they are.
