Sometimes I don't believe you

I don’t know how many times or ways

I have to express why I need you

I know I didn't have to leave you

But... I’m not sorry I did,

It only showed me how much I have to see you

Sometimes it takes the space between

For my heart to speak

Not my mind or eyes,

A bond can't be seen

Or imagined it just is.

What it is

Lies in between the ribs,

Keeps me breathing

And gives me a reason

To live.

The bond between we

Is a doorway to the future

I'm the lock and you're the key.

I'm the life that needs air

And you're the tree

Giving it to me

I once found comfort in your touch

And can't dream of a love the same

Now I find it lying on your face from a picture frame

And sometimes I sit and stare at it to stay sane

So your presence seems so surreal

I think I’m dreaming or dead I have to check my vein

I'd sport a straight jacket with out you

I find serenity in your smile and that's all that I can do,

Still trying to fathom how lucky I am to find a love so true

And wiser to have experience all that we've been put through
