Sin-struggle-victory

Poem about finding victory over sin.

Day by day I struggle

With a bunch of ugly sin

And day by day I call on God

To change me from within

But though I know He loves me

And that He is God alone

It seems He really wants me

To get better on my own

Not that He’s not with me - no,

He’s with me all the way

But He will not act for me

Or control the things I say

Instead He offers courage, strength

And power to succeed

And so the victory over sin

Is possible indeed

In fact it’s more than possible

It’s well within my grasp

I just need to cry out to Him

And try with all my heart

And then the Spirit has His way

And I find peace within

So thank You Lord that You have helped me

Conquer death and sin

And even though I had to try

It’s You who got me through

So honour, praise and glory Lord

To You, to You, to You.
