A poem about long cherished love

I dreamt about you last night,
We walked together, under the moonlight.

You held my hand, not letting me go away,
While the warmth of your touch swept my heart away

I told you that I think about you all the time
Whether morning, whether evening you never leave my mind.

You told me that you feel the same,
And that you cherish the thought of me having your name.

My heart leapt up with joy,
But then i remembered, oh boy,

That’s just a dream, not reality,
A reality that'll never occur, never with your sanity.

But let the mind show Its show and continue on,
'Cause that's a precious dream that I never want to wake up from.

Ah, a valuable dream that you can never forget and still want to chase it and you are. Sometimes a dream can keep you happy and you follow it to BE happy. This was beautiful. I love it, it's fine even if English isn't your first language.

Hiii Soul whispers!! I love how this poem is. It reminds me of the song Ceilings by Lizzy Mcalpine. How beautiful the relationship is with the person your dreaming of then reality kicks in and it was all but a dream. It's what makes beautiful poems are the dreams we have. Thanks for sharing!!
