The Ship of Dreams

The Ship of Dreams

A Poem by Aimee B. Melancholy
"

A poem memorializing the R.M.S. Titanic.

"

A maiden voyage.

A calm, moonless night.

The ship of dreams,

But all is not exactly as it seems.

Unprepared lookouts,

She was going way too fast,

Nowhere near enough lifeboats,

The dice of fate were cast.

Out of the darkness it came,

Looming tall and scary.

The passengers didn't see it coming,

All inside warm and merry.

Three words sealed the deal,

"Iceberg right ahead!"

It ripped apart the keel,

And the ship of dreams was dead.
