Technology

Technology

A Story by Lucy Tuggle

Do you or do you not believe in “aliens” from outer space.  I would like you to take a moment and read why I think they are a farce, ruse or guise, used by people, here on earth, who are making incredible advances in technology to keep us from looking to see what they are doing.  With all the satellites we have in space, which there are over 1000. One would think that one of them would catch something or someone if they were driving around in space.  We also have the Hubble telescope.  The Hubble telescope can see for light years into space, if there was something out there, I would think that the Hubble telescope would have seen something by now.  And if there are so many “aliens” running around on earth and in space, where are they?

If anything has given us more reason to believe in something else besides “aliens” it would be technology.  Technology has given us the ability to do things we never thought possible.  Examples of technology would be the medical field: The ability to do surgery, with little or no harm to surrounding areas. The creation of artificial organs and limbs, even exoskeletons to help people walk, people are living longer due to this technology. Doctors and nurses have so many tools at fingertips, thanks to modern technology.  Another amazing advance in technology would be the use of DNA in everything from crime to bringing families together.  Technology in the medical field has been extraordinary.  We even use 3D printers to make body parts.

Then there is technology that is in and around the world we live in.  Again the leaps and bounds that technology has made over the last few decades, has also been amazing.  Who would have every thought that we would be walking around checking things on the “Internet” with our mobile devices or tablet computers.  For that matter, whoever thought we would have a computer database that everyone, has access to 24/7, known as the Internet.  The same technology that gives us the aforementioned things can do even more than what we could imagine.

When Gene Rodenberry gave us Star Trek in the 1960’s there were a lot of things on the show that people could not even begin to fathom as a reality.  Quite a few things came to be that were on the show: hand held computers, mobile communication devices, a central computer that everyone had access to, and voice commands.  Things that we now take for granted, most of the time.

When I was a kid in the 70’s and 80’s we used books to learn, records and tapes for music and a landline phones to talk to people, who did not live in our homes.  We had to use payphones when we were away from home to call people.  30, 40 years ago the idea of music from anywhere other than the radio or our records and tapes was impossible.  Now all we have to do is just click on YouTube and put in our favorite song, and, just like that you have music.  Just think, all this technology came from people, right here on earth.  Humans are a resourceful group.  Even in the Bible, at the tower of Babel, God said “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.” People all around the earth, speak English, making most of the world speaking one language.  That being said, nothing is impossible for humans on earth.  Including, time travel, teleportation, high tech aircraft and so on and so forth.

I also believe that some people would use the guise of “aliens” to hide the emergence of new technology.  For instance test flights over the dessert and mountains (where most UFOs are spotted) as scientists are working on new types of aircraft.  People like to perfect what they are working on before letting other people see what they are doing.  What about so called “alien abductions” could it just be a form of transporter technology or time travel, gone wrong? Yes I said transporter technology and time travel.  Like I said, humans are a resourceful group.  These ideas are more plausible than “aliens” as far as I can see.

What if people from the future are traveling back and forth in time?  There is not as much on time travel, as there is on aliens, in the movies or in the tabloids. So people do not talk about it as much.  For me, time travel is so much more plausible than aliens.   With technology moving as fast forward as it is, I do not think it is improbable to think it could happen.  Think of it this way, what if we were like a live museum for people of the future.  They watch us and we don’t know they’re here, because they look like us and blend in.  They are not allowed to try and fix things, no matter how bad they are.  Out of idle curiosity they come and see the past.  Imagine, being able to travel back and forth in time and see the events as they unfolded.  As a curious people it would make more sense for people to want to travel through time, than believing aliens are zooming around in space, stopping by and saying hello.

Each and everyday, technology is progressing, scientists and everyday people are emerging with more and more devices and programs that are making our lives easier or at least trying to make our lives easier.   There are also those that are using technology to their advantage to hurt others.  Good or bad, technology is advancing at an incredible rate.  Nothing is impossible for someone who is determined to make something work.

So in conclusion, my belief is that, technology and not aliens, is the cause of UFOs, abductions, strange sightings and so on and so forth.  There are people out there working day and night, advancing technology.  We may see the advancement of time travel one of these days.  Who knows, maybe you are seeing you and don’t even know it.
