The shadows of realisation

The shadows of realisation

A Poem by Lauren Xena Campbell

The mind is a labyrinth,

Twisted with complex thoughts,

Parchments stacked high filled with memories,

A library of lusts and fears.

In the labyrinth lie good and evil,

The wicked created by an outside reality,

From being cast aside, trapped and burned,

The good coming from the sun, the soul.

Men and women have tried to un-riddle the labyrinth,

Losing themselves in a reality not suited to their intellect,

But they do not understand the game,

For here only the inner child can play.

At its centre the labyrinth holds desire,

Dreams, creation, fear and fantasies,

The shadows of realisation,

Only one can reach the centre-the corners of the mind.

What a great piece about the elements and keys to the human mind. A very enjoyable piece.
Thank you for sharing.

The mind is a labyrinth,
Twisted with complex thoughts,

well thought out, the mind being exactly as you describe, so complex.
And each individual has their own labyrinth, which when you think about it, is fascinating.
Very descriptive and thought provoking.

Dreams are not made to be broken, but are created in the heart to write destiny! I've always loved making up stories and putting words down onto paper, despite the fact that I only really learnt to.. more..
