I know I am just a novice at being clean,

Surely every addict has serious doubts,

But what a difference to not be mean,

To feel so good one hears his-own rejoicing shouts!

 

 

The struggles that will forever stand in the way,

The choices that can prove forsakable,

The pain and anguish I hope and pray,

Will not let me fall I am not that breakable!

 

 

The key to success always includes outside support,

The key to moving forward is to be strong,

The key to negative legalities is to make it to court,

The key to complying is to keep pushing on!

 

 

Don’t let fright get you depressed or beat,

The nightmares you have had enough of,

Trust in your perseverance keep feeling the heat,

Know the ‘Holy Father’ is watching from above.

and then they will be watching every move for the opportunity to push you from the driver's seat and take over your vehicle.

The best thing to do is to push them out and for them to find their way to a far away place on their own.

OMG thank you kindly...I love the way you stated your conclusion...if only I could get my clients (addicts) to feel the same. I know this is a simplistic poem...but then I was just starting out my tries outside the lines of addiction poetry! I like it too...I have always ha doubts about being successful at anything I tried! Appreciate you taking time to read this. All my addiction poetry is suppose to instill inspiration in them. You will be seeing more of this kind or writing because I am a medical school student developing a new type of Addiction therapy...compiled in a book (hopefully published this year) Addiction Poetry Therapy. My style for this type of writing is to send a message on a certain perspective and then to declare a statement at the end of total assurance...hence, the final remark you like! LadyAnn

I wish you luck with your addicts, I really think addicts are stoners and very dumb and they lack creativity. What the addicts should do is become drug dealers like scarface and then persons will be eating from their palms of miami.

More than likely when your addicts read your poetry they forget about it because the drugs they take makes them forget about everything.

One of the conspiracy theories is that the extra terrestrials tell drug dealers in south america to send all the drugs to north america.

I really wonder why drug dealers worship scarface and many persons want to be similar to him, was oliver stone when he wrote it.

Probably to sway individuals into compliance or scientifically spoken, "blind obedience". My addicts are, the one's who struggle to get clean and try, the ones who are in readiness to change, (which is a lot to expect..as you say).. I try to turn their doubts...fears of failure to hope of success. But I like writing addiction poetry due to it has changed my perspective just writing it as I inspire in a great many areas that are`for sober individuals that are or have personality disorders ...mental health disorders etc. It is inspiring writing...not sad or evil or pain. Love even gets boring sometimes...like other areas...plus send out a message.

If there was a way to figure what our enemies the extra terrestrials are thinking, I just do not trust them, they are so toxic beings.
