Where Do I Go From HereA Poem by LadyAnn68Just a constant little reminder of where you are and need to stay~Where Do I Go From Here
Where do I go from here In a sensitive place of emotion Making it to a recovered state With brain still full of commotion
Constantly held in check Past reflection illuminates the ghosts Memories of playgrounds and playmates All loved ones hurting the most
Where do I go from here The melody inside is a new song Once learned and memorized I will sing to keep recovery strong
Never lived a constant routine Securing the high was on a daily basis Suffering the dry desert of drugs Reaching for the recovery oasis
Where do I go from here I think the only way is up Drinking coffee instead of booze Every morning in my “specialty” cup
Try doing an activity you never thought you ‘d like One you thought you could never do Now recovered and thinking straight You’d be surprised what you can do anew
Where do I go from here Try taking up pen and paper Writing all you troubles in black and white Something you’ll always have to review later
Try looking down a few long open roads How to move forward to reach any ends One of the best pathways known Reach out and touch someone…make amends
Where do I go from here I want so much to stay in a clean happy place So I will strive my very hardest To keep my recovery and stay in this year’s race
QUESTION: WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE ANSWER: RIGHT WHERE I AM IS WHERE I WANT TO BE…IN RECOVERY!
