How LadyAnn Lost Her Way-But Found It

 

I never planned to lose focus

Cuz when I met him in that bar

Everything seemed destination clear

His bedroom never wanting to part

My love for him unconditional

But his reach was way too far

 

A love unreturned is more than painful

It makes a sad individual uneasy to follow

It throws the heart into darkness

An un-serene place that you wallow

The mental anguish that you feel

The price paid emotional hollow

 

Lost inside a magnitude of thoughts

Need relief from the accruing pain

Find escape in the hood on a corner

Dealers home where he reigns

Once drugs tried unable to stop

Drug-take-over invincibility feeling gained

 

Years of using years of failure

Still my heart remains broken

Calamity and devastation ruled my life

Only post cards received as tokens

Secretly my love never wavered

But no vows will ever be spoken

 

Updated years of resilience years of education

My advocacy voice hear the sound

With my passion for the written word

Covers all addict’s background

Poetry, prayer, and hope saves even one

My words provide salvation found

Hi Nene...I am glad that you understand...it was and still is an endless love for me...and NOTHING to him! As I watched him today I realized just how much he influenced my life and how much I fell into darkness.
