Under the Spell

 

Under the spell of authority

We react and behave accordingly

Precious not to jeopardize the risks

Handle like a challenge sportingly

Knowing when consequences are non favorable

Disciplining society’s will conformingly

 

Under the spell of love

Emotions dictate many decisions

Flowery dizzy dancing feelings

We embed with crude incisions

Behavior knows no bounds becoming irrational

And broken hearts withdrawal their positions

 

Under the spell of the dealer

Comes the illusion of best friend

We will act with strict obedience

Every dollar continuously spend

When feeling sad, angry, or low

Dealer sought out in the end

 

Under the spell of drugs

Don’t know up from down

Hijacks the loving personality

Leaving faces with but a frown

Stealing over half our lives

Burning the soul to the ground

 

Under the spell of RECOVERY

We discover the naked self

Learn to choose correctly

Clearing the past from the shelf

Rejoice in the new found freedom

Relive our faith as it is felt

 

Under the spell of family

Once hurt with murdered trust

Work to make serious amends

Pray they forgive us enough

Repair the relationship with the Lord

For complete recovery a must

 

Under the spell of sobriety

We live in daylight’s sunshine

Get educated and learn to work

Reciprocal people now treat kind

One day contemplate and finally realize

The world can all be mine
