Bruce and I
To struggle and want to win
There is no other choice but to apply
To admit you have the disease
There’s no holding back…you just can’t deny.
It can only be one step at a time
To get anywhere and further on
Sometimes it feels hard and heavy
And you’re too weak to stay focused or strong.
You force your friends some distance away
So that you can be separated and alone
It’s just that you want to hide your feelings
Not that your heart is made of stone.
Feeling like you have to sneak
Because the deep emotional state… you are lonely
You feel worthless after all that you have done
You feel like you are the one and only.
If someone out there could take the time to see
Your true colors, the real “you” deep inside
I looked…I understand what happened to you
All I ask is that you do not lie!
I met a man I think is ever worthy and -000- so
brave
We’ve made a pact and a truce
He makes me laugh and touches my heart
His beautiful name is Bruce.
So from this moment on in time
I will be looking at the “real” you
And know in your heart when we say good night
I lay awake with thoughts of only you!
