That Smile

That Smile

A Poem by LadyCardiac

Like a natural reflex

He smiles when he sees me

My chipmunk cheeks

turn bright candy apple red

When he smiles at me

Its like those mahogany eyes

See past all imperfections and perfections that could be

They dig deeper and touch the most tender parts of me.

He sees my soul

And his eyes stare in amazement

Like he's seeing the light for hte first time.

The curvatures of his face

Fit right into my imagery of what love should look like.

It looks like fire, passion, sweet cherries and primed roses....

It looks like jagged edges, loose tongues and holding back feelings?

We share it all!!

He smiles at me

And I smile back.

I wonder if he knows

Its love he is looking at.
