Devoir

Devoir

A Poem by crystallized illusions

Watched the girl fall apart,
Shattering
Like broken glass, her pieces scattering;
It caused great clattering,
The scene was quite unflattering.

Grimacing,
Through the pieces I tread;
Disregarding how my feet bled,
I pulled her hands away from her head

And exposed to her my needle and thread.

Gathering the pieces from the floor,
I stitched her back together with crooked lines,
Ignored the warning signs,
Hushed her silent whines.

And there,
Sitting, hunched, on the edge of my bed
Eyes filled to the brim with dread,
"I need you," She said.
