The Stars of You

The Stars of You

A Poem by crystallized illusions

my sweet lover,
my precious face.

shatter me with your  a b s e n c e ,
i am so easily broken -- and have become
so frail over time by being so gradually chipped away at
by other absences

your dark hair swallows me up like an abyss,
and your embrace leaves indents against my flesh --
as your breath once had done; seeping into my soul
through every iota of me you graced with gentle cries.

smile at me with your wolf-teeth,
but be ever so gentle -- for i bear claws too;
i have left traces of me upon your back:
traces which will fade from your pallid skin in time,
but never fail to penetrate your soul in memory.

your wide eyes, stretched so queerly against your narrow face
will burn still against my dreams
as you take your leave of me, & huddle back into the night --
leaving me still with the stars of you in my belly.

type your name into ink so often that i get used to the sound,
so that i may recognize it from a mile away --
so clear,
so you.

my sweet lover,
my precious face.

stay with me
if only
for
the night.
