The pull of you
 captured my heaven

Temptation to linger in
 an orbit rarely experienced

Silence sings volumes
 winning completely my freedom

Undoing this connection
 flows unnoticed

You'll never know
 the effort it took

How strong the attraction was
 the keeping at arms length

The many songs I had to sing
 to break the spell of a greater body

You'll never know
 what it took

To get unstuck from somewhere
 between you and heavenward

This was very well written Tricia. I daresay I can feel the effort put into this one...and perhaps the emotion. The human condition is rife with ironies. Attraction is good, but it is also a torture if not reciprocated. The last line revealed the mindset of the narrator, your use of the word "heavenward" it indicates the complete liberation from the bondage of attraction.
