Castaño

Castaño

A Poem by Laila

chocolate kisses melt
eyelids dance the tango
together then apart
then together again
shivers tremble my spine
the depths of the earth lurk
within those brilliant orbs
fertile, lively, and blossoming
watered weekly with tears
each drop a diamond unwasted
blue wildflowers and green moss
so beautiful to behold
both grow from the rich soil of your soul
your eyes, unfocused, fixate on me
pupils dilate, earthquakes in your irises
I’m engulfed
