hawthorn

A Poem by Lara
"

a walk

"

a piece of her came today,
swanning across the heather.
a little of her windows
sweeping this far...

today, like any other,
she roots in and holds
a lattice of back bone bare.
bracing the gale.

this theatre of sky and sea,
and cliff-edge colliding -
composed, in arabesque
and gentler windows northward.

i regale her in my heart
with thunderous applause:
her expression and her excellence
as principle dancer above all.

like odette from the stage,
she has flung me a rose,
drenched green like an emerald,
and cut just as sharp.

today, like any other, i marvel
and wish to bring it home.
"why?" i hear the disbelief
"it's a leaf...like any other."

but this came from the northside:
poised against the brutal winds
and holding for the light.
i only see a swan.

Yes, the site is glitching terribly.

I agree with Fabian...I just got lost inside this poem, wonderfully lost and did not want to find my way out.
Beautiful piece...soothing. I want to see just the swan.

About
I like poetry, though I don't presume to write it as much as write about things that feel like poetry when they happen,.. with the lucky-dip clause of introspection. Ironically, I look forward to lea.. more..
