I Miss You

I Miss You

A Poem by Whiskurz

The flowers miss your beautiful smell
The garden's no longer the same
They miss the stories you used to tell
As you called each one by name
The sparrows miss your morning song
They loved to hear you sing
They always loved to sing along
The way they did each spring
The stars still look for you each night
As each one fills the sky
The moon becomes the only light
The stars all wondering why
Even the wind still calls your name
I can hear it in the breeze
You touched us all with love the same
It echoes through the trees
I miss your smile, your gentle touch
Since the day you passed away
I didn't know it could hurt this much
I miss you more each day

My favourite line by far is 'The stars still look for you each night'. It really hits home and it's a type of romantic personification I love, in this instance it's extremely sad as it says to me that this person has truly left this world. It's delivers the message that the world is a less beautiful place now. Reminds me of the famous poem 'Stop the clocks..' in as much as it makes me feel the same kind of dread, the sort of dread that just makes you sigh.
