Kisses

Kisses

A Poem by Whiskurz

I've kissed your lips a thousand times
And each has a different taste
I've tasted love, joy and happiness
Not a single kiss to waste

Your kisses told me when you were sad
Or when you were feeling ashamed
They even told me when you were mad
And if I was the one you blamed

Your kiss could say I missed you so
Whenever you were feeling down
My lips could tell when you're smiling
Or when you were wearing a frown

I've even kissed all your tears away
Each time a loved one had died
I tasted the salt that fell from your lips
To comfort the pain that you cried

But this time this kiss is different
And I finally understand why
I've come to kiss you one last time
For this is the kiss of goodbye

This poem pours a bit o' salt into some mighty fresh wounds, my friend. I can relate so closely to this, but especially to the last stanza:

"But this time this kiss is different
And I finally understand why
I've come to kiss you one last time
For this is the kiss of goodbye"

The final goodbye kiss is bittersweet, painful, and excruciatingly stiff and cold. Anyway, that's my experience... Lovely write.

This is amazing :) The only thing is "I've come to kiss me one last time" I think is supposed to be 'You've come to kiss me one last time" I absolutely loved it though. :) Brilliantly written, a fantastic piece of writing.
