Dogs Go to Heaven

I am sure that dogs go to Heaven

As sure as my soul shall ascend

For what kind of place would Heaven be

If it didn't take man's best friend?

Now some might say that I'm crazy

For dogs don't even have a soul

But God surely knows that I miss her

And her fate is in His control

She was faithful and loyal just like me

And always followed commands

Just a few things that the Bible says

That we need to enter His hands

A dog has never sinned against Heaven

So there's nothing for them to confess

I wonder if God ever talks to the dogs

For there's nothing that He doesn't bless

I am sure that dogs go to Heaven

And I know that mine's on her way

For yesterday the Vet found a tumor

And we buried her earlier today

I do believe those beloved canine friends who left us in this life will be waiting for us, tongues flapping and tails wagging, when it's our turn to go. Faithful and forever loyal...they wait.

I'm so sorry about your dog. It's been three months since mine died and I miss him every day.
This is a loving poem and one that I agree with. There was a great Twilight Zone episode along these lines once...it's one of my favorites... The Hunt.
