Dancing in the Shadows

Dancing in the Shadows

A Poem by Whiskurz

Dancing in the shadows
She waits for her prince to come
For she believes in fairytales
Much easier than some
A little girl of thirteen years
Blind, since the day of her birth
"Just another obstacle", she says
"For it doesn't determine my worth"
She's daddy's little princess
He says she was born to dance
Trapped in a world of darkness
That robbed her of her chance
Never once has she complained
About the things that she can't see
For when she dances in the darkness
Her soul is truly free
She twirls and jumps continually
She lights up the entire room
Her smile, the brightest thing of all
Even the darkness is consumed
Dancing in the shadows
She waits for her prince to come
For she believes in fairytales
Much easier than some
