Lust

Lust

A Poem by Whiskurz

'Tis fate that blocks the path of hope
I know not where it leads
My eyes can't see my heart's desire
My conscience intercedes

I weep for love that's lost its way
An orphan of the heart
Hollow words now guide my steps
I know not where to start

An empty voice inside my mind
Beckons me to fall
But love still seems so far away
I dare not heed its call

Blinded by my wants and needs
And things I cannot touch
Temptation calls me ever close
I fear I want too much

My will has lost as pleasure wins
My doubt has turned to must
I cannot flee temptation's grip
A prisoner lost to lust

Strong human emotions. One may have strong resolve, another... not so strong.
Very well written, my friend.

Michael Thank you for your always too kind comments my friend.......Whisk
Ah yes, that four letter word, lust. This is full and anticipation, and that blaring echoing call to passion. Wonderful read...
