Die Some More Today

Die Some More Today

A Poem by Whiskurz

I wander through a land of pain
Not knowing where it leads
Facing things I can't explain
My soul so torn it bleeds
While trying to make excuses
To justify my need
I find no satisfaction
No one to intercede
My prayer becomes an empty mist
A vapor, nothing real
No words were ever written
To describe the way I feel
Even my reflection screams
My glass dreams start to break
I cannot find a purpose here
My life, a mere mistake
Death is still a mystery
He will not look my way
Unless this life is truly death
I'll die some more today

Excellent write, I feel that you did a great job with your emotional catharsis; creating the mood and tone of your poem as well as making it possible for your readers to relate to it. As for me, I definitley felt that I could relate. The struggle just to go on with each passing day, those sudden feelings of hoplessness that overcome you, especially when you least expect it. Loved how you adressed the mystery of death, and your comparisons like "glass dreams' were intriguing. Nice work! :)
