Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Whiskurz

The reckless impurity, that is my life
Has carved a hollow soul
As time only stands and watches
Never attempting to console
Beneath the veil of uncertainty
I've stumbled and lost my way
My voice, but an echo of who I was
No longer has anything to say
Trampled upon by my destiny
Held captive by my past
Broken and bent, on borrowed time
Is the shadow that I cast
I try to see what others see
But I'm blinded by my fate
I can hear the future calling me
But I can feel I need to wait
The waiting lasts forever in seems
For me, the hardest part
I wonder if she'll ever come back
To mend this broken heart

First off, poem structure is splendid. It rolls through the mind and off the tongue with ease. Secondly, the portrayal of emotion is striking and pure. It is hard for one that is riddled with heavy thoughts to see how others note the goodness and other positive quailities in him/her. Such a profound sadness, but holding out hope. Hope is never lost. Wonderfully powerful writing.
