A Poem by Whiskurz

Why hath love escaped my grips,
Hath not thine heart grown barren and waste?
I pray thou findeth me upon thy lips
And thou doth not judge thy love in haste
What perils yet hath mine heart to face?
As it longs once more to see thee smile
Thine eyes hath yet to find disgrace
As thine heart hath yet to find denial
What wounded whispers hath pierced thine ears?
'Tis but a jealous wind that corrupts thy soul
A bitter breeze that carries slanderous fears
That even words of comfort cannot console
I pray thine heart be filled with peace
To quiet the voices thou holdeth inside
I pray the tainted words will finally cease
As I take my love and step aside
'Twas love that beckoned us both to come
But doubt would drive our love apart
And slanderous lips would soon become
The reason for my broken heart
