I'm living in the shadow

Of the one you left behind

It's me you chose to be with

But it's him that's on your mind

You compare me to the way he was

Yet you never mention his name

But everytime I don't stack up

I'm the one that you blame

I see the way you look at me

With that cold and empty stare

Holding me and thinking of him

While wishing you were there

You talk about our future

While living in the past

I tell you how much I love you

You tell me I'm moving too fast

I die a little more each day

Because it's him you're thinking of

It's such a painful way to die

This thing called second hand love

Its doubtlessly something that kills if you're facing it for real in your life. Its useless to love someone who is not with you mentally but physically. That physical presence just can't comfort your love any ways. But the problem is that its hard to let go the person because the person is with you and not with you at the same time. And then there's hope. ah but What to do, what to say, how to say, when to say, what to do. Its just a complete mix up of thoughts. Well the poem is very nicely written, the thoughts expressed are very real. I like it.
