Through The Eyes of Death

Through The Eyes of Death

A Poem by Whiskurz

Nothing will ever look the same
When you're told you're going to die
The things you took for granted
Will no longer pass you by

The flowers become more beautiful
'Cause you take the time to smell
And the things that went unnoticed
Now live to say farewell

The things you touch seem different
While marveling at the feel
You wonder why you have to die
To make things seem so real

The gentle winds that kiss your face
Now bring you to your knees
You never notice until it's too late
The joy that's in the breeze

The past becomes your future
Remembering your mistakes
You live each day to right the wrong
No matter what it takes

The hardest part is saying goodbye
To all the people you love
One more day is all you want
It's all you're thinking of

You're amazed by God's creation
While counting every breath
The world will never look the same
As you look through the eyes of death

True and thought provoking. You should read my "grim reapers feelings" I think you'd like it. This was a great piece. When our eyes are opened up and we ony have a set amount of time we appreciate everything more

Absolutely amazing. One of my favourites that i've read on here!! Sort of a hauntingly beautiful reminder to appreciate life while you can. Really great job. :)

You know a while back I was about to write something similar. It was on my mind. Something stopped me. But now I think I couldn't have matched you.

This is incredible. I've not been told I'm going to die, and though I know it will happen eventaully, I can only imaginge what it's like to live like this. Such things really makes one realize what's important, and makes one content with what they've got. To my ignorant and, aparently unusual, self, it seems like a very peaceful way to live, but also a rather sad way, as your poem so rhythmically describes. Wonderfully penned. Thank you.
