Forever

Forever

A Poem by Whiskurz

Pieces of forever
Cast upon the ground
My hopes and dreams now turned to dust
Never to be found

While looking for a reason
A memory hits my sleeve
The memory when you walked away
And I begged you not to leave

As I wipe away the liquid pain
I know our time has passed
Forever's not that long at all
Somehow it doesn't last

I love all of this, especially the phrasing "liquid pain" and the poem is not that long, but it has a definite effect on the reader, for most writers have at one point felt heartache, and this is written beautifully and pulls at those emotions. Amazing.

Such heartache when love turns out to be a lie and all our hopes and dreams are crushed. This is a lovely piece of writing, very deep and meaningful.

The first stanza is stark and it only grows darker from there. As maybe forever becomes apart of all our futures...

In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.

"Forever's not that long at all
Somehow it doesn't last"
Lovers always say that they'll be together FOREVER.
once someone told me - "Forever is the biggest lie on earth"
i never wanted to believe it - but it IS TRUE.
well done.
