A Hundred and Fifty Days

A Hundred and Fifty Days

A Poem by Whiskurz

A hundred and fifty days have passed
Since I've seen your smiling face
I've looked this whole world over
I can't find you any place

A hundred and fifty prayers I've prayed
That's one for every day
But I'm still waiting for an answer
Sometimes it works that way

A hundred and fifty sleepless nights
Waiting to tuck you in
I have at least a million questions
Wondering where you've been

A hundred and fifty apologies
That's what I owe to you
I don't know what I was thinking
Lord what will I do?

A hundred and fifty lonely steps
From the mailbox to our door
I didn't know a stranger was there
Or what he had in store

A hundred a fifty days have gone
Since we laid you in the ground
We buried the picture you loved the most
Your body was never found

This is terribly sad. Sorrow written in rhythm and rhyme.

Wow, well written and great rhyme scheme with a smooth flow. Great twist at the end! Amazing work! So sad and melodic, great!!
