True Love Painted From Memory

True love painted from memory
with pigments, vintage and hued,
pastels and watercolours
that with time have become more subdued

A brush mark denotes where tears ran
and were wiped away, gently pursued
by the hand of a caring lover,
who left not a tear to be viewed

Framed with tender compassion,
framed with a fervour renewed,
true love painted from memories
on which eyes of the world now intrude.
