Metronome Heart

Metronome Heart

A Poem by Lawerence Rowe
"

A poem about the heart.

"

Someone once told me
in a grave, somber tone,
that if love was a beat
it would tick like a metronome.

Tick tock, tick tock
it would go on and on,
tick tock, tick tock
long after everythings gone.

click clack, click clack
from beginning to end,
click clack, click clack
that sound! it could rend

Spirit from mind
and flesh from bone,
till all that was left
was that old metronome.

the love from a heart
is one of a kind,
and can be counted out
in ole tick tock time.
