The City

The City

A Poem by lawrence_keiz
"

The poem is about corruption and malfeasance in the management of a city

"
Red, blue, purple and yellow luminous lights
Tall buildings elevate
Serenity imitate
Ferrari, Bugatti and Limousine circulate
City

On streets, souls walk and drives
Light and dark moves
Who is who, a fairy tale bliss
Ridges stand aside
Social stratification
The statistician writes
Economic Inequality!!!

In fine dining restaurant, little miss Anne
In a toque blanche, carries pizza
'Dad am bored with that' bewailed Jane
'Bills on me, dump it in the dustbin'
'I need à la carte menu'
Pops in the black limousine
Flew

In Penury,
'One hundred and two bodies so far'
'WFP, FAO and UN are willing to go this far'
'We should contact NGO's sir'
'No it's Hepatitis outbreak'
World wide risk
'Contact the government'
Corruption in play
More Bugatti, Ferrari and Limousine in town

The City,
Total discrepancy
