BitterSweet

At moments in this strange life,
Everything tastes a little bit weird.
Situations come with disturbing feelings,
Feelings that taste bittersweet.

Can we say that life is like chocolate,
This dark chocolate without added sugar.
The damn bitter one we hesitate to try
And which secretly hides its sweetness.

Do we human beings like it that way
Or is it that life that tastes so weird?
Sadness, incapacity, hopelessness, fear...
Toughness and compassion are bittersweet.

Some situations hurt but open our hearts.
This heart one wants to preserve and
That seems to endure more than one can think
Maybe because it is bittersweet.
