Sky (Prompt for Debate via Prose or Poetry) 04.22.25

A Poem by LisaCarol
"

I wrote this one quickly . . . Maybe too quickly, but couldn’t come up with any revisions like I usually do.

"

Often I gaze at the sky and ponder.

How insignificant am I

In the whole of the universe?

Yet how significant I am,

In my own universe.

From the tiniest particle

To the whole of totality,

All is significant . . .

Somehow

You write so beautifully, my friend.. in the above there is so much more than mere words: simple thoughts somehow turned head to toe via philosophy, and artistically as if coloured life across a canvas, romance and music and more. Your words are a treasure trove in so many ways, LisaCarol; many thanks for sharing.
Sincerely hope all's well in your world.

Isn't it strange how opinion of self can see-saw from insignificance to significance, changing how we think and feel about ourselves, the world around us and beyond.
It doesn't take much to tip the balance either, with one moment we feel almost invisible to the next when someone thanks us for something or other, probably of little importance but yet can mean the world to the person it is aimed at.
Even as a human, we can feel insignificant when we hear of measurements in light years, yet we can feel significant too if we think how far humanity has come from when we climbed out the trees... yet instantly feel insignificant in a thought of how far we still have to go.
Sunrises do that to me. They make me ponder all that we do and all we stillhaveto achieve, all the while that sun rises each day oblivious to us all.
Very nicely captured, far more succinctly than my meandering jabberings! 😃
