About me

Even though my enemies probably wish death upon me
Still I pray they live to see 103
Changing my ways wasn't easy
Believe me
Gotta see the bigger picture
When faced with adversity
We make excuses for our short comings
But we always judge others when they come up short
We need to calm down and check the person in the mirror
Use to see that person as inferior
Good hearted but hard headed
Headed down a road that I thought had no end
Until I met a friend that pulled me out of the darkness within
No more feeling uncomfortable from the exterior
Now I grin widely like the horizon
Smiling at my enemies
Because they see what I didn't see
Family also tried to break me
Maybe not intentionally maybe
Use to do the same but it hurt me
I didn't want to hurt anybody
So I stopped being like everybody
I try to utilize the mind of christ
Funny how it seems his ways are utilizing me

Great poem displaying the ironies we live every single day, constantly criticizing each other and becoming hypocrites. I particularly like the last two lines, where you bring in the "mind of christ" and how "his ways are utilizing" you. It's a short ending that definitely leaves the reader thinking. It definitely leaves me wishing for a greater explanation, though. But perhaps that is what you were going for?

Regardless, a great, beautiful poem about the way we truly should live our lives, instead of how the majority of us act today. Bravo.
