Only In Appearance

Only In Appearance

A Poem by Vertigo

"What is it you want most?" he would ask

and I would simply say "Love"

Then he would laugh carelessly and ask "Do you believe that exists?"

"No" I would reply "Anything taken for granted can't exist"

"Do you exist?"

"I...live" I say calmly, looking past his dark eyes, "But only in appearance."
